Sign Maintenance

The Traffic Engineering Division is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of street signs throughout the City.  The sign team performs, on average, anywhere from 50 to 100 sign repairs per month and keeps watch over several thousand signs.  There is a sign shop in the Public Works facility where many signs are manufactured.  We are continually looking for areas where signs can be removed that are no longer necessary or warranted.  We also keep a close watch on missing or stolen signs.

The Traffic Engineering Division is proud to have recently purchased several lighted street signs that will soon be installed at select intersections around town.  The signs will make street name identification much easier, while providing an aesthetically pleasing addition to our signal poles.

If you have any suggestions, concerns, or a request for a sign, please complete a Sign Service Request or call the Public Works Department at (540) 434-5928.
