How do I apply to become a Harrisonburg Firefighter?

Contact the City of Harrisonburg Human Resources Office for more information at 540-432-8920 8am to 5pm Monday thru Friday.  The City of Harrisonburg only accepts applications online for positions that are currently open.   Testing is conducted regionally with Augusta County, Harrisonburg City, Rockingham County, Staunton City and Waynesboro City participating in the testing. Testing is conducted annually in April at the Rockingham County Fair Grounds.  Information regarding the annual testing is posted on the Human Resources Career Opportunities page annually in March.  Upon completion of the test, applicants may apply at any of the above agencies. Other requirements for employment in Harrisonburg include but not limited to Firefighter II, Hazmat operations and EMT.
