Movies Under the Stars, Summer 2010

Bring your blanket and sit on the hill behind the Cecil F. Gilkerson Community Activities Center and enjoy the show!  Anyone under the age of 16 needs to be with an adult.  In case of rain, the movie will be shown inside the Activities Center.  Movie start time is 9:15 pm.  Movies subject to change.  For more information contact Lynn Turner at (540)433-9168 or e-mail  Lynn.

Dog Days Dog Swim, Sunday, September 5, 2010

Let your dog join in the swimming fun at Westover Pool between 1-4pm!  Fee: $2.00 per dog to be donated to the SPCA.  This event is for non-aggressive dogs.  Owners must present proof of current rabies vaccinations.  Dogs must be on a leash when not in the pool.  Pre-register at (540)433-9168.  Dog goodie bags for the first 50 to register! 

International Festival, Saturday, September 25, 2010

Join us from noon until 6pm at Hillandale Park for a day of family fun celebrating many different cultures!  We will feature many different foods, music and dance, activities for various ages and a multi-language area.  Come rain or shine.  Visit www.harrisonburg-international-festival.org for more information.

Annual Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk, Saturday, October 23, 2010

Join us for the 8th Annual Breast Cancer 5K.  All proceeds will benefit RMH breast cancer treatment.  T-shirts will be provided for the first 500 pre-registered by October 13th.  Raffle and door prizes available for participants.  Refreshments will be available before and after the event.

We will once again be having the "Inspirational Homestretch" to raise additional money for the RMH cancer center.  We will be selling signs that read "In Honor Of" and "In Memory Of" those affected by cancer.  The signs cost $30 each and will be displayed along the roadway for the final stretch.  If you are interested, please let us know in advance.
