Shelters are reserved for April 15 - October 31 only.

Picnic shelters may be reserved beginning the first working day of January for City of Harrisonburg residents. Non-city residents may make reservations beginning the second working day in January. 

Please note: All shelter reservations are final.  Changing of dates, parks and shelters cannot be made.  Refunds will not be given for cancellations. 

Reservation signs are posted on the shelters.

Each shelter has 6 to 10 picnic tables.

Grills are provided as well as trash receptacles.

Park restrooms are available for use between April 15 - October 31 (except Riven Rock Park which opens May 15 - October 31).

Water and electricity are available at various shelters.

Weekday Reservations Monday through Friday:

$10.00 city residents

$15 per day for non-residents  

Weekend Bookings Saturday & Sunday:

$25 per day for city residents

$40 per day for non-residents

JMU, EMU and Bridgewater College graduation dates are $50 per day.

Picnic Packs, which include play equipment, are available at a fee of $5.00 per day/weekend. The packs include: volleyball net, volleyball, softball, softball bat, horseshoes, badminton net, racquets & birdies, basketball, playground ball, wiffle ball and bat, jump rope and frisbee.
