In January, 2006, 15 Harrisonburg firefighters went to Mississippi to help fellow firefighters repair their homes after the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina. The firefighters left Harrisonburg on Sunday, January 8th and returned home on January 14th.
Firefighters will return to the Mississippi area in February 2007 to continue helping their fellow firefighters.
