Description:
The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) by the City of Harrisonburg, Virginia (City) is to solicit sealed proposals from interested Consulting Engineering Firms (Offeror) to provide professional engineering services for the design of the Mountain View Drive Stream Restoration project (see map). This 1,730 foot stream reach has a 361 acre contributing drainage area and is, overall, considered unstable and actively eroding. A Preliminary Engineering Report was initiated by City Council and was completed in October 2017 by A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (Attachment I) to determine whether a full stream restoration or stream stabilization would be most feasible moving forward. The Report and City Council supports moving forward with the full stream restoration. Therefore, this RFP is to perform the engineering and design of the full stream restoration as recommended in the Report as Concept 2.
