The Economic Development Advisory Committee (hereafter referred to as "Committee") shall advise and make recommendations and advise the City Council on matters related to economic development which include but are not limited to economic development incentives, current business climate, business attraction and retention, marketing opportunities, and other issues that may promote economic development. The Committee shall assist with providing input and expertise on ways to encourage and help businesses and individuals to invest in the City, create jobs, and increase the tax base, which ultimately leads to a better quality of life for all Harrisonburg residents.

The Committee may consist of up to twelve (12) members maximum. The initially-appointed board shall consist of five (5) members.  Board Members are appointed for a period of four (4) years. Terms shall be staggered with the initially-appointed board having three (3) members appointed to four year terms and two (2) members being appointed to two-year terms.

The committee will meet on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 3:30pm in the City Manager's Office Conference room located on the third floor in City Hall, 409 South Main Street.
