Bicycle & Pedestrian Subcommittee
This page should redirect. If not, please visit the Boards and Commission websit [1]e for the latest information on the Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee [2].
The City of Harrisonburg’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee is an advisory committee established by Transportation Safety & Advisory Commission (TSAC [3]) in 2010 and facilitated by Public Works Department staff who works together with the subcommittee and other community stakeholders to identify needs and opportunities for making Harrisonburg more walk and bike-friendly.
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee advises city staff and TSAC on bicycle and pedestrian-related matters. The Subcommittee also assists in implementing and achieving the goals of the City Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan [4] and to serve as the body through which the update of the plan takes place (approximately every five years as the Comprehensive Plan [5] is updated). They work with the City to achieve safe bicycle and pedestrian connectivity for all citizens and solicit input and feedback from community members and local advocates on bicycling and pedestrian matters. *
*Note: The Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee is an advisory and not an advocacy group.
