The community is invited to learn about the health and extent of Harrisonburg’s urban forest canopy, review strategies for best management of the canopy, and find out how trees play a role in reducing stormwater runoff.
This project includes the retrofit of an older water quantity facility to include water quality features. The project is currently in the engineering and design phase.
This project includes the restoration of approximately 1,730 linear feet of stream along Mountain View Drive.
Citizens are invited to attend the open house at Thomas Harrison Middle School to learn more about the stormwater projects and how the school will use stormwater utility fee funds to improve local water quality and meet federal and state requirements.
The Environmental Performance Standards Advisory Committee provides guidance and recommendations to City Council in the establishment of environmental performance standards for public development and redevelopment projects, and will encourage the private sector to meet these standards as well.
