The Treasurer's office collects all tax bills for property(s) located in the City of Harrisonburg. All payments will be applied to the account on the following business day. The Treasurer's office does not make any changes or adjustments to utility bill accounts, they only process the payment(s). The Treasurer's office also collects payments for parking tickets.
For assistance or information regarding water or sewer usage, please contact the Public Utilities Department, trash/refuge/recycling fees are included in the water bill.
Payments for taxes and parking tickets:
Ticket fine payment may be made by mail or in person to the Treasurer's Office in City Hall at 409 South Main Street (540-432-7705).

Bill payments for taxes and parking tickets may be made at the Treasurer's office by bringing payment and the stub to the office during normal business hours (hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (except holidays)) or by placing it in the convenient drop box located in the parking lot in front of City Hall, 409 South Main Street. This boxed is checked two times each day, Monday through Friday.

Online payment options:
The City of Harrisonburg's Citizen Self Service allows you to pay bills securely online. Online payments are processed daily Monday - Friday. Payments made on weekends are processed on Mondays. Payments made on holidays are processed the next business day.
The City accepts credit card and debit card payments. Online eCheck and credit card payments are accepted through Citizen Self Service. For tax bills, there is a service fee of 2.35% of payment amount for Credit/Debit cards, a $2.95 fee for Visa Debit cards, and a $0.45 fee for ACH/eCheck processing. For general billing and business licenses, there is a service fee of 2.95% of payment amount or $1.00, whichever is greater. For water bills, there is a convenience fee of $4.50.
This service is offered as a convenience by the City of Harrisonburg. The City is not responsible for any errors or omissions.
