City of Harrisonburg offices will be closed Friday, July 3, 2026 in observance of Independence Day.
Early voting for the Dual Primary will also be closed on Friday, July 3rd.

  • There will be no cardboard collection for this date.
  • The Recycling Convenience Center and Mobile Unit will be closed on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4.
     

City offices will reopen Monday, July 6, 2026 at 8:00am.

 

Bus service: There will be no bus service on Independence Day.

  • Fireworks: The sale, use, or possession of fireworks is illegal in the City of Harrisonburg. Illegal fireworks will be confiscated. (City Code Section 16-6-57.)
