Each year, the Harrisonburg Police Department, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), participates in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Initiative.

This is a free service provided by law enforcement to the local community. Individuals can drop off any unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs.

Syringes, needles or any other dangerous materials will not be accepted.  Please remove any personal identification from the medication bottles and boxes.

The Virginia State Police and the Drug Enforcement Agency will properly dispose of all medication collected locally.

Next Drop Off Date: To Be Announced

Individuals may use the red Drop-Off Box for prescription medication in the lobby of the Public Safety Building at any time during the year.
