The Welcome Home Garden is a living statement of appreciation and support for young men and women returning home from service overseas as soldiers, sailors, marines, missionaries, etc.

The Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation Department strives to meet its mission of enhancing the quality of life and meeting the needs of every citizen by providing comprehensive leisure service opportunities and to develop and maintain a safe system of open space and public facilities for the use and enjoyment by the public.

The Lucy F. Simms Continuing Education Center has a gymnasium, fitness room, computer lab, and meeting spaces.

The City of Harrisonburg supports special events that provide enjoyable opportunities for residents and visitors, and contribute to a vibrant, livable and sustainable city.

Rocktown Trails offers three different levels of difficulty to appeal to a complete spectrum of runners, walkers and cyclists from novice to expert.

Located on the corner of North Liberty and West Wolfe Street.

Kiwanis Park sits on 3.8 acres with playground equipment and a basketball court.

Located 15 miles west on US Route 33, Riven Rock Park sits on 27 acres, including four picnic shelters, natural surface trails, horseshoes, individual picnic sites, and comfort stations.
