Recreation opportunities for those baby boomer age and beyond!


Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation offers a variety of activities for adults age 50 and Wiser! From fitness and mind-body classes, creative learning and more, we strive to provide something for everybody. Keep active mentally, physically and socially by participating in one of our programs. Many of our programs take place at the Price Rotary Senior Center.  

*Many of the programs will be moving to the Lucy F. Simms Center and Community Activities Center while the Price Rotary Senior Center undergoes renovations.  Please make sure to check you activity location prior to attending.

Bring a friend, or come out to meet new players for a few rousing games of pickleball. We have indoor and outdoor options throughout the week for play.  All equipment is furnished with our indoor options, however you are welcome to bring your own.  Participants must provide their own equipment for the outdoor options.  For information on locations, dates, and times visit our Pickleball page or contact Lynn Hoy at Lynn.Turner@harrisonburgva.gov or 540-433-9168.




BowlingThursday Afternoon Bowling

Enjoy bowling in a relaxed atmosphere where fun is the name of the game.  Experienced or non-experienced bowlers are welcome.  Bowl for 16 weeks, with a party on the 17th week where prizes are awarded for a number of categories.  $9 per person, includes three games, shoes, and a ball.  No registration is required.  Next sign-up for teams is April 20 for the season that begins May 4.  This program takes place at Valley Lanes every Thursday from 1:00-3:00pm. 





Nashville Show Trip - October 16-20, 2017Nashville Trip
