The City of Harrisonburg adopted a Stormwater Utility Fee to provide funding in the support of the operation, maintenance, and regulation of the City's extensive stormwater management system.

The purpose of the Harrisonburg Conservation Assistance Program is to provide cost-share and technical assistance to address natural resource and stormwater concerns by assisting in the voluntary installation of certain stormwater Best Management Practices within city limits.

Citizens with concerns about drainage issues that have caused or are threatening damage to private properties may utilize the Drainage Improvement Program to request City-funded improvements.

These Harrisonburg transportation projects are primarily transportation-related, but may also serve recreation, economic development, stormwater management, and/or other needs.

Creating plans and conducting studies ensures that transportation projects and operational improvements are completed to facilitate safe and efficient travel within the City.

The IMAP is an interactive map that allows anyone with cell phone or computer access the ability to view all Public Works-approved Public Access Permits taking place on or within City property or public right-of-way.

South Main Street (Route 11) is a major arterial route with observed operational issues at the intersection of Erickson Avenue/Stone Spring Road, which has several major left turning movements, as well as existing safety concerns on the corridor extending to the south.

The project will construct approximately 1,200 feet of sidewalk on the east side of Reservoir Street from Dutch Mill Court to the Harrisonburg Crossing shopping center entrance to fill gaps in the pedestrian network.

This project creates a modified Restricted Crossing U-turn (RCUT) at the intersection of Pear Street and Erickson Avenue to improve safety and operations at this intersection.
