City of Harrisonburg Community Garden

Are you interested in gardening, but do not have the space?

Do you want to be in the company of other fellow gardeners?

The Harrisonburg's Community Garden is set aside for members of the city to enjoy the benefits of organically growing quality plants in a designated area that they may not have space for in their neighborhood. The plants may include fruit, vegetables, flowers, herbs, spices, etc. Plot owners will work together in growing a successful garden, tending to the community compost, and sharing beneficial knowledge with fellow gardeners. Through these efforts in gardening we are striving to stimulate social interaction, encourage self-reliance, beautify neighborhoods, produce nutritious foods, conserve resources, and create opportunities for recreation, exercise therapy, and education.

We will have 14 (20ft. X 20ft.) garden plots available for a fee of $30.00 per year. There will also be public access to water and other available resources.

Contact Scott Erickson at 433-2474 or e-mail  Scott for more information.
