Recreation opportunities for those baby boomer age and beyond!
Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation offers a variety of activities for adults age 50 and Wiser! From fitness and mind-body classes, dance lessons, creative learning and more, we strive to provide something for everybody. Keep active mentally, physically and socially by participating in one of our programs. Many of our programs take place at the newly refurbished Price Rotary Senior Center.

Come out to the Community Activities Center on Thursdays from 12:00-3:00pm for pickleball. Bring a friend, or come out to meet new players. All equipment is furnished or bring your own. Please call 540-433-9168 a week in advance to ensure court space and equipment. This is a free ongoing program. This will not meet on December 24, December 31, February 4, and March 31.
Saturday Morning Pickleball
Come play a couple of Saturday mornings this winter at the Simms Center. We will furnish all equipment. This program is free and will meet on January 9, January 23, February 6, February 20, March 5, and March 26.
Ladies Pickleball Clinic
Come out and learn the game from other ladies. This is a great game and good exercise. Stick around after and play the rest of the morning. This is a free clinic that will meet at the Simms Center from 8:00am-9:00am on Saturday, January 9.
Thursday Afternoon Bowling
Enjoy bowling in a relaxed atmosphere where fun is the name of the game. Experienced or non-experienced bowlers are welcome. Bowl for 16 weeks, with a party on the 17th week where prizes are awarded for a number of categories. $9 per person, includes three games, shoes, and a ball. No registration is required. Next sign-up for teams is January 7. This program takes place at Valley Lanes every Thursday from 1:00-3:00pm.
