Shelter Reservations

Shelters are reserved for April 15-October 31 only.

Picnic shelters may be reserved beginning the first working day of January for City of Harrisonburg residents. Non-city residents may make reservations beginning the second working day in January.

Please note: All shelter reservations are final.  Changing of dates, parks and shelters cannot be made.  Refunds will not be given for cancellations.

Shelters can be reserved in advance by telephone with credit card or in person by check, cash or credit card at the Administrative Office between 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday - Friday.

Weekday Reservations Monday through Friday:

$10 City Residents

$15 Non-Residents 

Weekend Bookings Saturday and Sunday:

$25 City Residents

$40 Non-Residents

Picnic Packs, which include play equipment, are available at a fee of $5 per day/weekend. The packs include: volleyball net, volleyball, softball, softball bat, horseshoes, badminton net, racquets and birdies, basketball, playground ball, wiffle ball and bat, jump rope and frisbee.

Reservation signs are posted on the shelters.

Each shelter has six to ten picnic tables.

Grills are provided as well as trash receptacles.

Park restrooms are available for use between April 15-October 31 (except Riven Rock Park which is open May 15-October 31).

Water and electricity are available at various shelters.
