The Child Safety Alliance was developed to assist citizens with Child Passenger Safety (CPS).  Call Cathy Stewart at 540-810-0527 to set up your FREE appointment for assistance with CPS.   Cathy's office is located at Fire Station 1, 80 Maryland Ave.  The Child Safety Alliance is a partnership between WHSV-TV3, Rockingham Memorial Hospital, and the City of Harrisonburg.   While the City of Harrisonburg, WHSV TV-3 and Rockingham Memorial Hospital provide a portion of the funding for this program, it is not totally funded by these agencies.  We rely on donations from the public to fund a significant portion of this program.  If you would like to make a donation to this program to insure that not only your child, but other children as well, are as safe as they can be while riding in a vehicle, please make a tax deductible donation to:

The Harrisonburg Fire Department supports the use of Residential Fire Sprinklers.

Every year more than 3,000 citizens are killed in residential fires.  Residential fire sprinklers can save money for developers, builders and communities.  According to the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition, installing both working smoke alarms and a fire sprinkler system reduces the risk of death in a home fire 82%.  For more information go to http://www.homefiresprinkler.org
