Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is comprised of seven city residents (one a City Council member) who serve four-year terms (two term maximum). They typically meet once a month to consider requests from citizens and developers on issues such as rezonings, special use permits, and major subdivisions. The Commission’s recommendations are forwarded onto City Council to help in their decision-making. The Planning Commission also assists the City with special projects such as ordinance revisions and special sub-committees. To learn more, or to obtain an application for service on the Commission, please contact the Department of Planning and Community Development.
