South Main Street: Mosby Road to Stone Spring Road

The project adds a 3' wide concrete median on S. Main Street from just south of Mosby Rd to Stone Spring Rd/Erickson Ave, with a break to maintain a full access entrance to Dukes Plaza.

City Council

The City Council meets at 7:00pm every second and fourth Tuesday of the month in Council Chambers (409 South Main Street). Meetings are open to the public.

Homeless Services Center

The City of Harrisonburg purchased 1111 North Main Street in Harrisonburg, which is 3.68 acres with an existing 6,730-square-foot two story building built in 1910 with later additions, from the Shenandoah Presbytery. The City’s goal is to use the property to strengthen our community efforts to make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring for residents of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance Update - Ordinance Advisory Committee (OAC)

The Ordinance Advisory Committee will meet with city staff and the consultant team six times during the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance Update to represent the broader community, review draft ordinances, serve as a sounding board for new ideas and solutions, and to provide constructive input.

Federal Street Shared Use Path

This project reallocates space on Federal Street, between Elizabeth Street and Market Street, to construct a shared use path that people bicycling and walking can use as an alternative to Liberty Street, Main Street, and Mason Street, where there are no separate facilities for bicycles.
