32 trees were planted by city staff and volunteers in Heritage Forest and Gardens (along West Market St by Thomas Harrison Middle School).
Volunteers and city staff planted 20 trees at Thomas Harrison Middle School on October 4, 2018. The trees were planted along the sidewalk as well as the road leading up to the middle school and will provide shade, stormwater uptake, and habitat for native fauna.

The City of Harrisonburg and the Shenandoah Valley Soil and Water Conservation District will be hosting a Rain Barrel Workshop at the Westover Cecil F. Gilkerson Community Activities Center.
Participants will convert a heavy plastic pickle barrel into a functional rain barrel during the Rain Barrel Workshop.
