The Real Estate Board of Equalization Public Hearings are scheduled for March 19th - 21st, 2024.

Appeal 2024 Real Estate Assessment Notice - Final deadline to file appeal is December 15, 2023.

Land may be eligible for special valuation and assessment. Forms are mailed in September, due date is November 1.

All Virginia Income Tax returns must be filed or postmarked by May1.

Tax Relief for the Elderly & Disabled applications are due.

Filing deadline for personal property return for taxpayers operating a business in the City.

Personal Property Taxes Due - The City of Harrisonburg levies a personal property tax on all taxable tangible personal property located in the City.

Residential parking permits are valid from July 1 to June 30 of the following year of purchase.

Individuals owning a dog within the City of Harrisonburg are required to obtain a dog license for each dog he/she owns pursuant Section 15-2-8 of the Harrisonburg City Code.
