**Construction postponed until necessary rights of way and easements to construct the sidewalk may be obtained at a future date.
Sidewalk to be constructed on the west side of Sterling Street between Elizabeth Street and the existing sidewalk north of Gay Street. This will fill a gap between the existing sidewalks on Sterling Street to provide a safer route for people walking in the neighborhood, including to Ralph Sampson Park, Lucy Simms Center and Spotswood Elementary School.
A Sterling Street Open House Event[2MB] was held on Wednesday, June 21 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at the Lucy F. Simms Center, 620 Simms Avenue, Harrisonburg. The public attended to learn about project details and provide feedback.
